"Take off your shoes Poem"? Where can I find one? (website)? I can't begin to tell you how many times I've washed my floors, my father in law never takes off his shoes and I've told him many times. I want to put a sign on my door or a framed peom about taking off your shoes. Do you know where I can find one??
Or if anyone writes poetry and thinks they can whip one up for me, that would be awesome. Wisdomwoman replied: "So you've asked him many times and he hasn't done it .... chances are he won't. Maybe getting his shoes on and off are a struggle for him. Maybe he's one of those people that puts his shoes on in the morning and takes them off minutes before getting into bed. Do you have a nice bench in your entry where he can sit down to take them off or do you expect him to balance and take them off.
I understand the reasoning of taking your shoes off since it helps keep your floor and carpets a bit cleaner, but does HIS shoes cause such a mess? As a last resort, offer shoe covers like they use in hospitals or that mechanics wear.
I would give it up ...... picking a battle over shoes with him is not worth the grief."
JStrat replied: "Welcome
We're glad to have you, welcome in.
We'll let the good times now begin.
Come spring, come summer, winter, fall
We won't ask much of you at all.
We'll take your coat, mix you a drink -
we'll try to keep you in the pink.
For what we ask we need no list,
and all we ask is simply this:
Someone vacuums and washes floors,
so please leave shoes outside the door!"
Diana D replied: "Remove your shoes coming through this door
To keep clean my sparkling floor.
Do this for me - and you I adore
Otherwise - I may start a war.
How's this? You could have a cute cartoon character standing with a mop in her hand." 'in her shoes?' poem 'one art' what does she end up saying it means? when cameron diaz is reading 'one art' to the man in the hospital, he gets her to explain what it means, what did she say?
huh? um no i actually don't know the answer, that's why i'm asking.. please help :) batchuchi replied: "I think you already know the answer to your question.
Please ask a question which you really don't know the answer.
Perhaps we could be of help."
loufedalis replied: "It means "her life or "her experiences". She is requesting that she not be judged by anyone who has not been where she has been, seen what she has seen and done what she has done. Don't be critical of me, because you are not me. You have no idea what I have been through in life." Dead mans shoes ( Poem)? Dead mans shoes dead mans shoes
every one thinks you have nothing to loose
A job for life a life long job
the dead mans name... I think it was Bob
You start every Monday and finnish at five
after a few years you dont feel alive
Mondays are hell till you hear that bell
That bell it will toll
It will take your sole
In more ways than one
it will signal your gone!
and your name? flux replied: "I wish sole and soul were spelled the same way, but other than that and some grammar problems I like it."
smemutley replied: "Oooo, cool!! Do another!!"
Laura replied: "Dead man's shoes, dead man's shoes,
everyone thinks you have nothing to lose.
A job for life, a life long job,
the dead man's name... I think it was Bob.
You start every Monday and finish at five,
after a few years you don't feel alive.
Mondays are hell till you hear that bell.
That bell it will toll,
it will take your soul.
In more ways than one,
it will signal you're gone!
And your name?
There you go... I like the premise, but you have three verses all scan differently, it isn't comfortable to read through.
You don't need a tum ti tum ti tum tum rhythm, but you do need to try to find a rhythm of a sort."
Judybaby replied: "I think when this guy talks about it will take your sole he is referring to both the sole of the dead man's shoes and the man's soul. I do not see this as a spelling error but as a play on words, sole/soul." What do you think of 'The Angel Wore Shoes' poem? The Angel wore shoes.
Questionable clubs of
Fast foxtrots...salsa.
Was never said...nail polish?
Sequined, tango gown?
Pixie-cut hair? 'Freeze' spray?
Long, sharp, manicured talons...
Nails. Hold...available.
And, 'human', style-walked
Sidewalks. Second sights,
Whistles!
Purposeful stride. Opening,
Closing doors.
Shopped sales. Canceled church.
Televangelists' 'demon'.
Glory Amen!
The Angel wore shoes.
People, peers' people, steeple-
Climbing rungs---Jacob's Ladder.
Why fear--- rat nibbling minds..
Head high in sunlight downslide.
Deadfall.
Why listen in invisibilities?
Screams commonplace. Mundane.
Rungs break. Broken. Tokens,
Mementos...top of
Jacob's Ladder.
The Angel wore dancing shoes.
Neon....this angel, in this poem, never got broken...it was people that can't climb that ladder.
After I wrote it, I thought OMG! I just wrote about 'Michael' in female form...but, she don't die. She's the human side of an angel.
Kate...would you believe a lot of people have seen angels, but don't want to talk about them? they're afraid of what others might say....poof! Angels are there to be seen...wonderful! Mixtli replied: "You know, I always thought Angels went barefooted, and that those dancing foot steps I hear at night belonged to a ghost. I think maybe, now, they are the same."
neonman replied: "This Angel did indeed take a different route as she danced the night. Still, a precious human being, that although broken in the end is still an Angel. Interesting use of Jacob's ladder reference. The neon side of me said dissipating excess electric charge! lol An enjoyable read.
Edit: To me as I read the last stanza, they and age brought her down. But she still in the end became an angel. Obviously, I read it wrong! The electrical discharge of 'my' Jacob's ladder zapped me! lol"
lady_bird_2000us replied: "i went to the library and
picked out a book
to check out the angels
and have a good look
some had small harps and
some had big wings
some had small bows and
arrows and things
some had halos above
their unshorn heads and
some had clothes and
some not a thread
but their feet were all naked
and were dainty and smooth
like a new born baby
coochie coochie coochie coo!
None had socks, flip flops or high heels
no boots, or pumps or
shoes with small wheels
None were dancing to some jive beat
they were wiggling their toes
on their small baby feet
thank you...lady bird has left the building"
Ronnie replied: "Up the Ladder to the Roof
You just brought that thought of the song. I remember the phrase, Having a ladder in your stocking meant, having a run in your nylons.
I heard that song and thought of climbing the running ladder, up the stocking to the roof.
Now, the next line in the song is: Where I can see heaven much better.
My My, lucky guy. Angels everywhere, but none care.
Good fecking Morning!!"
ma replied: "All I could think of was that song "There she goes just a walking down the street, singing do wah diddy diddy do diddy do, she's fine, so fine, and I'm gonna make her mine." I like an angel with 'tude!!
ma"
Sin replied: "Very good read, left me smiling."
See how they run replied: "I've often wondered how some angels walked over where some of us fear to tread. They have their own special shoes."
*Jellz* replied: "and the "Devil had the Blue dress, Blue dress, Blue dress, Devil had the Blue dress on!""
Kate Alex Bahleef replied: "Would you recognise an angel if you saw one?"
Snidely says... replied: "Very well done.
I had a nightmare.....
...my angel wore hip waders....
but honestly...
I have seen angels before and they were all butt naked." |
